May the Truth About Trans Treatments for Kids Set Them Free
Call it “medical gender reassignment,” “sex-trait-altering procedures,” or “transgender medical interventions.” Just don’t call it “gender-affirming care.”
A new, comprehensive Finnish report on the aftermath of medical transitioning of minors and young adults is making waves. Here, from Any Ngo:
A new academic study published in Acta Paediatrica followed over 2,000 trans teens and young people who received “gender-affirming” care.
After treatment, mental health problems became more common, not less, and these trans people remained several times more likely to need psychiatric care than their non-trans peers. Psychiatric morbidity surged especially among those who transitioned medically through surgeries and/or cross-sex hormones.
The study’s findings are part of a growing body of research showing no improvements or even worse outcomes for people who transition, contradicting the claims from the ACLU, GLAAD, and leftist trans activists.
Or, as the report succinctly puts it:
How reliable are these findings? Rich Guggenheim points out that:
Finland has some of the best national health records in the world. Every specialist psychiatric visit, diagnosis, medication purchase, and procedure is logged. There is no loss to follow up. Researchers followed these young people for an average of 5.5 years after their first clinic visit (up to 25 years for the earliest cases).
He adds:
Gender clinics take gender nonconforming kids (a group that has always included a huge percentage of future gay and lesbian adults) and tell them they were “born in the wrong body.” Instead of talk therapy that explores why they hate their developing same sex body, they get puberty blockers, wrong sex hormones, and surgery. The result? Same sex attracted youth are chemically and surgically converted into the “straight” version of the opposite sex. … Gay erasure, now with medical billing codes.
The Finnish data confirms it. Psychiatric needs did not drop after medical transition. They exploded. The underlying distress (often tied to emerging same sex attraction, autism, trauma, or social contagion) was never treated. It was masked with hormones and scalpels.
The Finnish report’s findings confirm those of other recent major studies. The Cass Review conducted by Britain’s National Health Service, released in 2024, recommended against medical transitioning of minors — given that most outgrow youthful gender dysphoria — noting the under-reported dangers and permanent harms of blocking puberty (typically followed by a life-long dependency on cross-sex hormones, along with mastectomies and genital-reconstruction surgeries).
Similarly, a 2025 U.S. Health and Human Services study recommended against medical intervention to treat children and adolescents confused about their gender identity and favored therapeutic counseling, given the strong likelihood that most minors overcome their gender dysphoria by early adulthood and – significantly – many children whose dysphoria isn’t medicalized come to realize they are gay, not transgender.
What the Truth Is Up Against
As news about the Finnish research findings hit the wires, it remained clear that “the movement” still isn’t going to be swayed by mere facts and scientific evidence. As Guggenheim concludes:
Major LGBTIQA+ organizations have abandoned their original mission. Groups like GLAAD, Human Rights Campaign, and GLSEN once fought for basic rights for gays and lesbians: decriminalization, marriage equality, and protection from discrimination. Today they have shifted almost entirely to pragmatic outreach that targets children and pushes the radical trans queer agenda.
Democratic-run states, moreover, still insist that gender-confused kids only be offered the knife as they look to circumvent the recent U.S. Supreme Court opposing efforts to limit counseling to only “gender-affirming care.”
For an example of the evolution of the new dogma, Parents with Inconvenient Truths about Trans (PITT) recently posted:
As gender ideology exploded into society in the last 10 to 15 years, the [New York] Times put on their civil rights glasses and made a deliberate decision: gender ideology would be treated as a moral cause to be defended and advanced. Full stop. There would be no questioning of why, suddenly, thousands of kids and young adults seemingly out of nowhere identified as “trans”. Financial incentives for doctors and pharmaceutical companies to provide “gender affirming care” would not be investigated. The shrill screaming from gender extremists that such care was “lifesaving” would be treated as gospel.
Will this finally change? We’ll see, but the struggle for truth on behalf of gender-confused kids continues.

How will new studies convince people who believe there are more then two genders, or that a person can “transition” to the opposite sex in the first place?
